In my opinion, Joel made the most human and fatherly decision, and I don’t think that he’s wrong to do that. In fact, I really think that if I was in his body I would do the same thing for Ellie. Also, the fact that he killed everybody at the hospital is not good, but I think that it was the most human decision that he could make.
In my opinion, The Last of Us is one of the best videogames ever and a good reimagination of the post-apocalyptic-world genre. The story of Joel and Ellie gives players a big lesson about the importance of bonds and trust even in the most critical conditions. The way the game shows the construction of the relantionship between the protagonists really makes us cry when we discover that Ellie will have to die to save humanity in the end. For me, Joel did the wrong but most human decision at the end when he kills the scientists and saves Ellie. He does not want to lose another daughter again and, due to this, he chooses the human path instead of the utilitarian path.
