3. Reading — About the Ending of Stranger Things

Part 1 — Final Battle and Main Plot

At the end of Stranger Things, the final battle happens between Eleven and the villain Vecna. Vecna wants to merge the real world with the dark world called the Upside Down. Hawkins is in danger because gates between the worlds are opening. The group must stop him. Together, Eleven and her friends fight to save the children who were taken, like Holly Wheeler and others. Joyce, Hopper, and the kids work as a team to find and rescue them and stop Vecna’s plan. In the final fight, the gang defeats Vecna and the Mind Flayer, which was the deeper evil behind many attacks.

Part 2 — Eleven’s Sacrifice and the Upside Down

During the climax, Eleven uses her powers to help destroy the Upside Down and save the world. A big explosion happens and it looks like she dies to make sure the Upside Down cannot hurt anyone again. Many people feel sad because Eleven was a hero and an important friend to the group. But there is a twist: Mike tells everyone later that Eleven might have survived with help from her friend Eight. He imagines Eleven alive in a peaceful place, walking in nature, though the show leaves it open if this is true or only a story Mike tells.

Part 3 — What Happens After the Final Battle

After the final events, the series shows life 18 months later. Steve becomes a teacher. Dustin goes to college. Will lives in New York and seems happy. Lucas and Max are still together. Hopper and Joyce are engaged and planning a life together. The group has changed, but they keep their friendship. Some characters died during the battle — Eleven’s psychic sister, Eight (Kali), dies heroically. Others survive and move on with their lives after the big battle.

Part 4 — How Fans Felt and the Controversy

Many fans had different opinions about the ending. Some people loved how emotional and powerful the ending was, with friendship and hope. Others were upset and disappointed. Some said the ending was not clear enough or did not answer every question. They wanted a more definite answer about Eleven’s fate. Some fans even started a debate called the “ConformityGate” theory, claiming the ending was too comforting and did not match the original spirit of the show.

Responses

  1. I think that the ending was good, but there are so many plot holes, because of this, many people think that the ending was so bad. Another bad thing is the Battle with Vecna, because in my opinion Vecna is so important for the series, and because of this, he deserved a better fight.

  2. I think the ending was not so good. I say this because of the plot holes. In fact, the Duffer brothers didn’t explain a lot of things. A good example is about the pregnant women. About eleven’s death, I don’t have any bad or good opinions about it. I say this because I think it was necessary for the ending of everything. At the same time, I love eleven, she had a difficult and sad life, she deserved a good and normal life.

  3. I think that, in terms of quality and cinematics, the other seasons of Stranger Things were good, especially the fourth season. To be honest, I was disappointed with some of the plot holes in the final season. For example, when the gang arrived in the Void, the “house” of the Demogorgons and the Mind Flayer, they didn’t find a lot of monsters there. For me, this was a big plot hole in the universe of Strange Things.

But I don’t want to hate or say a lot of bad stuff about Stranger Things because the other seasons were fantastic. I had fantastic moments watching Stranger Things!

  4. In my opinion, I was pretty satisfied with the general ending of the series, except from some (or a lot of) plot holes in the epilogue, especially, the future of characters like Eleven, Mike, Vickie or Susie.

I think some people didn’t enjoy the finale that much because of these exact points and some other plot holes that left them feeling upset or unsatisfied.

So, even though the finale received mixed reactions from the general public, we must recognize how much the people involved worked on the series.
