📘 3. Reading – About the Film
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003), written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, follows The Bride — a former assassin who wakes up from a coma after being attacked on her wedding day. Her baby is gone, her life is destroyed, and she begins a revenge mission against the group who betrayed her: the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. This first volume focuses on action, sword fights, martial-arts style, and visual storytelling instead of long dialogue.
The movie mixes influences from samurai films, spaghetti westerns, kung fu cinema, anime, and Tarantino’s unique style. One of the most iconic scenes shows The Bride fighting the “Crazy 88” gang in Japan — a long, stylized battle now considered a classic moment in modern cinema. While Vol. 2 continues the emotional story, Vol. 1 introduces the world, the characters, the enemy list, and the beginning of her transformation from victim to warrior.

🧱 Example Comment
I think revenge can make a person feel strong at first, but it also brings more pain. The story follows The Bride, and she becomes powerful, but she also suffers a lot. She has a clear enemy list, but this mission controls her life. In my opinion, revenge is dangerous because it takes away peace.

I think that revenge can promote both growth and destruction. In fact, I think that starting a revenge can make you stronger, for example, not only physically, but mentally too. However, I think that a revenge can destroy the life of who is trying to make it happen. At the same time, this process can affect the lives of the people that are near too.
